Solomon Keynote Speaker at Charleston School of Law

Carl L. Solomon addressed law students and faculty at the inaugural Convocation on August 26.

Columbia, SC – Columbia attorney and South Carolina Bar President Carl L. Solomon was the keynote speaker at the August 26 Charleston School of Law inaugural Convocation. More than 700 students and faculty attended the event held at the Charleston Music Hall.

According to Dean Andy Abrams, the school decided to implement an annual Convocation to welcome new and returning students to campus and begin the school year on a positive note. Carl L. Solomon was invited to address the students in his role as President of the South Carolina Bar and an experienced practicing attorney.

“As you go forward, always remember, the practice of law is an honor and a privilege, one that carries great responsibility to your clients, your associates and partners, opposing counsel and society,” says Solomon. “Remember what brought you here in the first place and keep true to the Lawyer’s Oath you will take. Know that the South Carolina Bar is committed to serving and educating all of its members through programs that provide education and professional growth, from the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Division to the Practice Management Assistance Program; the Bar and your more experienced colleagues are always there to help you.”

Solomon recently formed The Solomon Law Group and is President of the South Carolina Bar. He was previously a partner in the law firm of Gergel, Nickles & Solomon, which disbanded after the nomination of Richard M. Gergel to the District Court Bench for the District of South Carolina.

The Solomon Law Group represents clients throughout South Carolina including Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort, and Rock Hill. The firm handles serious injury cases, wrongful death, product liability, and other complex cases.
