Coming in with the highest revenue and net income, UPS Inc. located in Atlanta, GA, made almost $72 billion in revenue and nearly $5 billion in net income. It makes sense why UPS would be at the top of the list because they have services that cover every method of transportation. They have UPS Package Operations, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Coyote Logistics, UPS Freight, UPS Capital Corp., UPS Mail Innovations, The UPS Store Inc., and Marken. Each of these subdivisions handle different services, like air delivery, supply chain, distribution, and pharmaceuticals.
2. FedEx Corp.
FedEx Freight is part of the FedEx Corporation and located in Memphis, Tennessee. As of early 2019, the company has made almost $70 billion in revenue, and almost $4 billion in net income. They have many different delivery services, including FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Logistics, FedEx Freight, FedEx Services, and FedEx Office. Each covers a different method of delivery or service, like air shipping, ground shipping, or printing and copying.
3. XPO Logistics
Based in Greenwich, Connecticut, XPO Logistics comes in at number three. Their revenue was about $17 billion, and their net income was just under $400 million. Within XPO logistics are XPO Transportation and XPO Logistics which handle various methods of shipping and other management.
4. J.B. Hunt Transportation Services Inc.
Lowell, Arkansas, is home to J.B. Hunt Transportation Services Inc., and you’ve probably seen their yellow logo on the roads often since they’re the fourth largest trucking company in the U.S. Their revenue was about $9 billion, and their net income was just under $500 million. Within their company is J.B. Hunt Intermodal, J.B. Hunt Truckload, J.B. Hunt Dedicated Contract Services, and J.B. Hunt Integrated Capacity.
5. Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings
Knight Transportation and Swift Transportation merged in 2017 to form Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings based in Phoenix, Arizona. After the merger, the company has Knight Trucking, Knight Logistics, Swift Truckload, Swift Dedicated, Swift Refrigerated, Swift Intermodal, and Swift Logistics as delivery methods. Their revenue was just over $5 billion, and their net income is over $400 million.
6. YRC Worldwide
Located in Overland Park, Kansas, YRC Worldwide made over $5 billion in revenue last year. Their net income was around $20 million, and they have services including YRC Freight, YRC Reimer, New Penn, Holland, and Reddaway for different delivery methods.
7. Schneider
Schneider is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, its revenue is just under $5 billion, and its net income is over $200 million. Within their company, there are divisions such as Schneider Truckload Services, Schneider Intermodal Services, Schneider Logistics Services, and Schneider Finance. These divisions handle services like transportation, network design, and equipment leasing.
8. Landstar System
Number eight is Landstar System in Jacksonville, Florida. Their revenue is about $4.5 billion, and their net income is over $200 million. Landstar Transportation Logistics, Signature Insurance Co., and Risk Management Claim Services are divisions of the company that handle different types of transportation, insurance, and claims management.
9. Old Dominion Freight Line Inc.
Thomasville, North Carolina, is home to Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. Their revenue was $4 billion, and their net worth is just over $600 million. Their branches include OD Domestic, OD Expedited, OD Household Services, OD Global, and OD Technology, which cover services like trucking, air freight, and information technology.
10. Ryder Supply Chain Solutions
The final company on our list is Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Miami, Florida. Their revenue was under $4 billion, and net income was under $200 million. They are comprised of Ryder Supply Chain Solutions and Ryder Dedicated Transportation Solutions, which include warehousing, distribution, and contract carriage.
