Drug Recall Has Widespread Impact

FDA Withdraws Approval Of Pain Medications After Study Shows Related Heart Problem

Columbia, SC – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced it had withdrawn approval of any medications containing propoxyphene after a recent study showed they caused irregular heart rhythms. These prescription pain relief medications are sold under the brand names Darvon and Darvocet; multiple generic versions have also been withdrawn from the market.

“We are concerned that not everyone has heard about the recall of these dangerous drugs,” says Columbia attorney Carl L. Solomon. “From what the FDA has indicated, even those who have taken the drugs for many years could begin having medical issues at any time. Anyone who has been using this prescription medication should contact their doctor as soon as possible to discuss alternative pain medications.”  For more detailed information, readers should visit the FDA’s website (www.fda.gov).

Solomon is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum® and has received the coveted AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubble®. He is the founder of the Solomon Law Group, LLC, which represents clients throughout South Carolina (including Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort, and Rock Hill) and Georgia. The firm handles serious injury cases, wrongful death, product liability, and other complex cases. Solomon Law Group advocates for those who have been injured or died due to the use of dangerous drugs.
